So after telling the wife it probably was not I took apart the mouse to check it. Easier than being told I told you so later. It was all electronic so all of a sudden the fault type made sense. I would lose the cursor totally and it would reappear if I restarted the computer without touching the mouse.

That amount of mouse failure in a day if each mouse worked initially is suspicious. Unless they were all of one production run perhaps. You could see by the one I took apart that the components while not really sophisticated were really cheap.The printed circuit board was like third world stuff or worse. If they were wireless you did change the receiver?
