To make a long story short, that's how my beloved 240-D, with less than an oil change from hitting 300,000 miles died. My then girlfriend and I were at a stop light with a minivan behind us. I heard an incredible crash behind us and looked up just in time to realize the minivan was about to hit us. Some man in a huge Dodge Ram didn't realize the light was red and slammed into the minivan at 50mph! Neadless to say my car was totalled and we both spent six months getting chiropractic care (justified, of course). I still keep a good eye in the rear view mirror.

PS The only good thing was that the insurance company paid me a good $800 more for the car than I could have sold it for. I had to sue for the doctors' bills and won. Came out ahead with a fair, not inflated, award.

You're lucky... I believe in the cross around your neck , although I wonder if she's really that much of a bi$ch for losing control of her car. Could have had a screaming kid in there or something, you never know.
