Dream on, oh dwellers of spaceship earth. It's 600 light years away. Just to get to the nearest star, a whopping 4 light years away, would take an estimated 1000 years with today's tech. Some of Einstein's theories have been found to have a few small holes here and there but the speed of light thingy is a tough one. Even heading up towards it has problems, or so the people who carefully study this stuff have it.

The chances of that planet being at a geological era that would be hospitable for humans are way small. And if we managed to get humans to the place and still living, the absence of gravity for God knows how long would have rendered their skeletons virtually useless in a gravitational field. Can you imagine what a human born and raised in zero gravity would have for a skeleton and joints? Maybe, maybe, an artificial gravitational field could be created a la "2001: A Space Odyssey" but I'm skeptical.

It's a pipe dream that won't die. Grass is always greener in the next solar system . . .
