It will run like crap, but you can use it.
The best years to grab for your year would be 79-81 IMHO
However you can use all 1976-1981 IPs and not see HUGE difference.
Also as asked above.....why do you need a pump or think you need a pump? Unless it was run on WVO/water/fuel with metal in it (used motor oil) or has over 400k on it then it should be fine.
