Interesting that you mention that today.

I was in small claims court this morning as the plaintiff for the DB who sideswiped the SD because she was in such a hurry. That Range Rover had 375hp and she used every single one to try to beat me into the right lane during an expressway merge (she was directly behind me).

No witnesses.

No police report.

She claimed that I failed to see her in my blind spot.

She was represented by the attorney hired by State Farm.


The lower of the two estimates was $1700.


We could settle for $850. or risk the trial and probability of returning at another date and killing another day.

I took the $850.

The DB won.


A dash cam would have been worth another $850 in this case. I'm sure that plenty of folks get into such situations all the time and it only takes the DB to lie like a rug to mitigate the situation in a court of law.
