I've been the lucky first-guy-on-scene at 4 accidents in the pas month. So after the second I ran out of the 4 flares that I kept in my trunk (I dropped one of the four to aid another disabled motorist).
Not being able to find a decent set of 30 min road flares online that didn't cost and arm and a leg (+ mandatory $25 fee for shipping HazMat) I went to the police department. I asked several officers and the desk officer if there was a fire/police supply they frequented in the area, no luck. So on my way out to my car I talked to another officer about my search for flares, he walked to his car opened his trunk and asked "how many do you need?" I asked for four and he handed me twenty. Then gave me his name and told me to look him up if I ran out.
So I guess MCPD is good for something.... every once in awhile..
