Thanks for the reply,

I checked the fluid and it is at the high mark, smells fine and is not an odd color, dark red.

The linkage is fine, although one of the clips is broken, but it still shifts into the proper gear...

When it happened I did have to rev it to about 4k to get it to move and it lasted about 100 yards and then finally died. Today it starts fine but still not shifting...

So for the pump, drain, drop, and rebuild huh? Sounds like a fun project, what parts would I need?

Anything else I should look at before? Does the vacuum have anything to do with putting it into drive or just with the shift points?
