Never mess with the timing, IE, don't take off the top timing chain gear and rotate it to correct for the timing marks being off... For other newbies here, this engine is an interference engine and doing so will result in at least a broken cam, rocker towers, etc depending on what you do right after the first step (like hit the key)..
