I recently had that problem with my 240D clutch. It would not bleed properly, but eventually I got it bled and pressured up. Shortly after that the slave cylinder failed completely. Put on a new slave cylinder, it bleed immediately and continues to work great. That slave cylinder is really at the bottom of the system and does collect a lot of junk. It must be bled properly at least once a year.
