I got these, both from my wife...

That is to say the rifle rest (no more having to scrounge wood blocks at the range) and the Model 74 Winchester. Well, actually I had put it on layaway a month ago and found a card from my wife under the tree with a 1 dollar bill in it and a note telling me that it was the dollar I needed to pick up my rifle. She had gone into the store and payed off my layaway except for that dollar. They couldn't release it to her of course as I was the one who had done the original paperwork.

I also got a couple of books, Niall Ferguson's "Civilization, the West and the Rest" and Max Hastings "All Hell let loose" about WWII. Oh yes, a couple of CD's The soundtrack to "Dances with Wolves" John Barry (one of my favorite scores) and Mozart's piano Concertos. And a box of 22 ammo. Sounds like a lot, and I'm very happy with it all but actually the best part of it was having all the in-laws staying for a week. Lots of good food and a relaxed and very happy Xmas was had by all.

I hope we'll be able to repeat it again next year.

- Peter.
