My wife's 350SDL has an issue with the rear defrost. I installed a new switch because the old one would not light up when pressed. The new one worked as intended but it seemed as if the timer would not turn off the switch/light. It would go out when you rocked the switch to the lower position. Now, the new switch will light up when rocked to the upper position, but will go out as soon as you let go of the switch.

Any ideas on this situation? Everything else works except the rear defrost switch. I do not drive the car on a routine basis, so I am not sure if the rear defroster works even though the light goes out when you let the switch go.
