My mom/dad gave us an electric clothes dryer for X-mas. The house was built in 1935 and has never had one so there is no 220v outlet for it nor is there a vent line. We do have a nice clothes line though.

I think clothes last longer if they are not dried in an electric/gas clothes dryer.
