The M189 ain't no Diesel. The W189 is a 300d in literature after the W186 300/300b/300c, simply 300 on the trunk lid.

I forgot about the chassis lube system, sure beat spending an eternity properly greasing the bazillion grease nipples on the "lesser" models.

They also had rear tosion bars that were adjustable from the dash in order to compensate for heave loads. Seems I remember they were operated by electric motors.

There was also a plethora of special order options, ranging from a crude telephone, to trailer hitches, a sliding metal or Webasto cloth sunroof, several am/fm/sw radios, flag mounts, an electric motor powered divider window, luggage fitted to the car(including hat boxes), radiator blinds(my W128 has this option), supplemental heaters that blew warm air from under the rear seat, town and country horns.... and that's just off the top of my head.

The real problem with these cars is parts, parts, and parts.
