I tried to remove the gasket from the lid of my luk pump because I think that's where the leak is coming from. I thought I'd be a smart guy and make a temp gasket out of an old truck inner tube. When I tried to remove it, it cracked.

I rebuilt the pump in 2008, but I didn't put in a new gasket under the lid.

Is there enough pressure inside the reservoir to spritz ps fluid out? My gasket is likely original (95 e300d). What's a new gasket feel like? Is it flexible?
