There's no pressure in the reservoir, just splashing from the return line and sloshing when you take turns. I haven't looked at the gasket for a while but I remember seeing a cork gasket. Maybe that was on an older MB. Are you sure there isn't a front seal leak getting kicked around by the pulley?
