Presumably the engine is now sitting higher...and if the gearbox mount is original (unchanged and hence sunken) this has the effect of lowering the gearbox tail shaft causing the front UJ to flex more. UJ can develop a sticky motion (not smooth operation throughout the 360 degree rotation).
