The guy is definitely showing his lack of integrity by drinking and driving. I don't, however, see how this correlates with his desire to see people who get my tax money handed over to them do not use it for purposes other than subsistence.

There is no evidence that he used any handout money to buy his liquor. He has a job and gets a legitimate paycheck with which he can use as he pleases. In his case he used it for a bad thing, but it was HIS money.

In contrast, a welfare recipient is GIVEN money, money taken from YOU and ME. This money is given supposedly out of compassion so that the recipient can have food, clothing and shelter. It is NOT given to them for the purpose of buying illegal substances. Of course, the REAL reason they are given the money is to buy votes.

The government, or ANYONE, who hands out money, has all the right in the world to take whatever steps they see necessary to see that the money is used for what it was intended. If the person on welfare wants money for other things, they can go to work and earn it.
