White smoke at idle after driving

I have a new problem with my "cream puff" that I posted about earlier and decided on a new post.

I searched for this problem and can't find a clear match.

I have the car running pretty strong and a new problem has come up. After I run the car down the highway or run it hard down the road then let it idle it will smoke, white smoke that smells like burned oil at idle. I can rev it up and in ten -20 seconds it clears and returns to normal and it will not smoke at all. I will rev it to 3-4 grand and hold it there still no smoke. Take it out to drive and return to the house and 20 seconds after slowing for my turn it will start up again. It almost seems to be braking related causing the oil to surge forward in the engine and loading up the egr line? Two things to note: 1. I have a 3/4 heater hose about 14" long wrapping around 1/2 way the air filter for the egr return line. 2: This seems to have gotten worse with an oil change to 10/40 synthetic. I drive it 50 miles a day up a hill that I run almost wide open for five miles and it does not burn oil on the dipstick. The smoke comes less with the oil halfway down the dipstick lines. If the level is to the top it will smoke worse.

Could the egr return line be the cause? It is actually lower at one point than the outlet on the valve cover and the air filter inlet.
