90% sure now the big leak is the Oil Filter as its attached to the block. Removal is from the bottom taking off the Starter. Once that's off I hope to confirm this. Talked to Roy today about it, that's his diagnosis also and said those gaskets are notorious for leaking that bad.

So I'm stuck for now with it. But the fact its not the rear main seal and just an easy to get to $1.98 gasket brings my confidence back up. Will tackle the oil sender unit afterwards starting with the wiring harness as mentioned above. Thanks for all the advice and insight.
Benefits I'm seeing with the W124/M104 car is at least I can work on most of this to keep it on the road, compared to a front wheel drive rice burner. I'm seeing more and more problems with those, and the home mechanic cant really work on them.
Considering selling my gas guzzler truck now for a W123 300D since I will need to drive a long way for work now.
