From that I read, Komen was being pressured by the Religious Right nut jobs to stop cooperating with Planned Parenthood. Some religious group that was selling pink bible in Walmart and giving $1 from each one to Komen was the instigator and Komen changed their rules so they had an excuse to cut off the funding.
