It's been my experience that it is sometimes difficult to communicate adequately on a web forum. You can't see the other persons face or hear the inflection in their voice. He may have taken offense by reading only one portion of your post, or he might have been laughing all the time he was writing it meaning it as a joke.

If there's anyone on this forum who has experienced miscommunication here, it's me. In my case I try to keep in mind that it takes two to communicate and take most of the blame myself.
