so my 1987 420sel is struggling to start after putting a new fuel pump in. is there something else that I am missing? it is sort of cold here in west texas. should i change the fuel pump relay as a matter of course?

what i had done was a toggle switch for the fuel pump so i turn on the pump and then crank the car over. had the car started and then foot on the gas and died. what is that a symptom of?

any ideas and suggestions will be helpful.
