NO.
You will not hurt it trying to cold start.
Glow twice, each time until you hear the relay CLUNK, then try cranking.
You can crank up to "maximum" 60 continuous seconds; but it runs the battery down, and you MUST allow fifteen minutes for the starter to cool down.
