Transmission bolted up...just got exhaust left tomorrow and its done!

Had to remove the front part of driveshaft, but took opportunity to check out the center support...not a crack on it anywhere. I did notice though that there seems to be some rubber physically on the front driveshaft (rear end of it) that has started to peel. I haven't heard of anything replaceable other than the center support bushing+bearing. I figure the rubber on the driveshaft itself is maybe just to keep dirt out of the joint?
