The setup on the ML is a little odd in that the steering angle sensor is mounted at the bottom of the upper jacket tube. No idea why they can't offer it as a repair part, but they don't. Other MB's have it under the steering wheel and is relatively easy to replace.
On the BAS light, we have more problems with bad brake light switches than anything else. The part mentioned on the power brake booster is the diaphragm travel sensor. There is another sensor on the booster (name escapes me now) which is not available seperately. I've had a few bad travel sensors as well.
