Actually, not so.
It's the 220 cars and the early Adenauers that cost a lot to restore, mostly because people screw you on the parts, not because they are particularly exotic.
Except, of course, custom bodies, but custom bodies of any car cost more.
I bought my 170D for 750.00 and spent another 400.00 getting a second car with three extra diesel engines, one of which was rebuilt and put on a test stand for use in a school, until the school goit closed.
I have wanted to save the second car and put a 170 gas engine in it.
Have been talking to txjake about that, but got sick, and then I had to travel. Got sick again for the winter, so now am behind on my buildoimng plans for my workshop, though I did get a tire machine that was being trashed from a bankrupt garage.
