Why do people view Wikipedia as a factual source?
It slightly annoys me when I see Wikipedia cited as a source, as if someone is basing their entire answer to a question on the information found there.
Wikipedia is no different th an Yahoo! Answers. Anyone can edit it, and provide opinion and misinformation rather than fact. You get some good information here and some bad information, and the same goes for Wikipedia.
As a parent/teacher (homeschool) I do NOT allow my children to use Wikipedia as a source. They can and have visited the site, but they must cite more legitimate sources than that.
