Pennies are just for paying taxes. Can't buy anything for a penny anymore.

I was looking at 5/16" zinc plated washers at Lowes the other day for twenty some odd cents each, didn't buy them. Maybe they were stainless, I don't think so. I used washers out of an assortment box I bought some time back. Noticed that hardware has gone up across the board. Lag bolts were sixty some odd cents, I bought them. In my experience they are made of a very poor quality material.

I was doing an old fart project. Making saw horses that are probably nicer than most furniture sold today. My time is my own, I play.

I am planning on being around a while. I fully expect to see fast food burgers selling for $20 in my lifetime. They are already up from a nickel or a dime. We have beef imported from Mexico and everything imported from china.

I still say we should have kept manufacturing, outsourced the government, and other criminals.
