Hello All-

My 1980 300SD has developed some tranny issues.

Under medium hard and hard acceleration the trans shifts fine.

Under a slow acceleration the trans shifts fine through all gears accept the last when it make a LOUD CLUNK in the back end of the car.

Question - Is my transmission near its end of life or is it something else?

The car has 148,000 miles on it.
