Been there, done that!!

Yup,
It's a big deal.
These radios are controlled by the speed of the car as well. There is a unit under the passengers FEET---NOT SEAT!
Be very careful in this area as this is also where the airbag control unit is located. Not to worry as long as you just do the radio unit and don't touch anything else. A din#1 fits in these cars and the original speaker units in the doors and dash are pretty good ones. The head unit is just a remote and cassette mechanism. The radio itself is in the trunk. The antennia goes directly to the trunk unit (processor) and the 'remote unit' goes to the trunk as well....This trunk unit IS NOT THE AMP. The amp is under the carpet, under the passangers FEET!
I have changed this radio out and it was a two or three day deal. Just to get the wires from the trunk (cd changer) to the front all the trim behind the seats must come out. The trim on the sides of the seats must come out. The trim in the trunk must come out. The trim under the dash as well.......DRIVERS SIDE ONLY!
I changed it to a Panasonic system which has a million options in it but I think the original is something to consider saving. It's nice but was it worth it??
