You should have a rod that runs under by the exhaust manifold and to the trans. You can adjust the length of it to change the shift points. I believe if you lengthen the rod you will raise the shift point RPM.

I am trying to look for the rod, i know there got to be something to hold the RPM as one may not want to shift pre-maturely.
I guess that rod had been missing for long time.
