I have no idea what "77" is... but in the past many have attested to the ability of 3M 08090 super trim adhesive for this purpose... do not use 3M general purpose 08088 because that is for lighter stuff... The Super Trim lists hood pads as one of the things it is designed for...
However, be sure to read and follow the directsions... which includes using it on a clean surface... and some (not below X temp) restrictions...
