			The current factory plug is in effect Bosch Platinum anyways, I believe the price is competitive with buying them aftermarket,but this way you know they are the correct heat range and are the recommended plug.  
It could be that the parts guy didn't realize that the spark plug number is listed on the EPC. The Bosch number isn't on the box, either it's on EPC or he could take a plug out of the box and look. 
The tool that MB lists for removing the spark plug boot is the 17mm wrench that is used for 110 engine valve adjustment.
