Don't fool yourself if you think this is a good thing. Yes they will be the largest consumer market, however how does that help the US? Many economists already believe that there will be a trade deficit where they will export more than import.

Many US companies already are setting up factories in China to sell directly in that country. How does this help the US ecomomy? It is more probable that over time the same mfg facility in the US will shut down as the company will re-invest profits in the overseas facility and just import the parts for the US market.

Case in point: who developed the computer first, and where are the parts being made now?
