I bit the bullet. Separating those mufflers would have been a massive pain (fully welded all around the pipes!) And that effort - to put an old (probably non-oem, otherwise it would not have been welded) muffler on that is at least 10 years old would have been penny wise and pound foolish.

At least my system will be assembled the way it was supposed to be...
