thankfully, your flight didn't hit a microburst. I was at the 1985 Delta airlines crash site at D/FW two hours after it happened; the scene was surreal, bright lights everywhere and rescue workers all over the place. The wind blew the flight off it's intended landing approach path and into the water tank which is STILL THERE. You can still see the big divot the L1011's wing made when it hit the water tank which sprayed jet fuel everywhere and then ignited. Why don't they move the water tank to a SAFER location (well outside of the landing zone)?
