anytime I get an email from someone I don't know with some sort of vague offer on a part I have for sale or similar with a link I delete the whole schmear.

Example: I have gotten several responses to WTB ads posted on Apexspeed for my formula ford.....from England (supposedly)....."I have the part you need just send me an email....etc." If he does not bother to mention the part I am desiring, a price or anything why would I believe he has anything for me?

Delete.

OTOH I had a pleasant call from Canada yesterday from a Studebaker nut wanting to by my old "big brake" kit I have had lying around in my garage for fifteen years, having sold my Studebaker but still had the kit.

This fellow had a delightful accent similar to the ones in N Dakota but different. He is sending me a money order and I am going to drop the parts at my sister's place in South Bend where he will pick them up when he is there for the Studebaker national convention.
