Java's developer, Oracle, issued a fix to the vulnerability on 14 February, but this did not work on Macintoshes as
Apple manages Java updates to its computers.
Came in through Java which is managed by Apple for OSx. The trojan directly affected the operating system. Same deal with Windows machines, only Microsoft dealt with the issue 8 weeks prior.
All I'm pointing out here is that you Mac-heads should probably start paying attention, because the hackers are beginning to target Apple, and the folks over there have very little experience with defending their systems, as is evidenced by their lackadaisical response.
