FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 04/10/2012
DEATH INVESTIGATION

The Frederick County Bureau of Investigation (FCBI) is currently investigating the death of a New Market man. Today at approximately 2:35p.m., the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and Fire and Rescue Services responded to the 5,000 block of Worchester Ct. in New Market after it was reported that a man was pinned underneath his vehicle.

The preliminary investigation indicates the man was lying underneath his Ford Explorer, working on it, when for unknown reasons it began to roll. The vehicle rolled on top of the man, causing him to be pinned. A family member called 911 for help.

The man, age 49, was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity will not be released until family notifications have been completed. The investigation is ongoing to determine the factors that caused the vehicle to roll. Det. Willie Ollie is handling the investigation.
