China is continuing to produce incandescent bulbs and are building 30 nuclear power plants while ours go outdated due to regulation.

The problem isn't oil so much as cheap coal-based power that relies on the rape of Appalachia (see also: mountaintop removal). In an ideal world, the criminals responsible for the mountaintop removal would have been strung up and flung down an abandoned mine shaft long ago.
