I installed two of those kits in cars in our family in the summer of '98: one in an '83 Toyota Celica and one in a '90 SAAB -- both are working very well this spring with no further attention. I did follow the directions with the kits very carefully, but I didn't go beyond them with the kind of o-ring changing and flushing that many claim is necessary, but both of these were systems which had never been opened to the air, but only had gradually lost their charge. I just bought an '85 Jetta diesel as a project, and it has a broken hose to the condensor, so I'm sure I'll do a flush and a new receiver/dryer and a lot more on that one.
