Yes, a different cooler is needed for the role of "Canoe cooler", preferably one that latches. We didn't lose all the beer, only one got away. And of course the one we gave to the guy who helped us out with the recovery. All in all, as canoe wrecks go, it could have been a lot worse.
At least it was warm that day.

The more of these I read, the more I wonder if she'll ever agree to get into the canoe again! But I know there are some here who paddle, and thought they might enjoy a (decidedly slanted) tale or two.
Hopefully they'll turn the river on soon, and we can be back at it. Or at least our schedule will lighten up to where we can make a day of it and head to another area. The nearby Kings River has a bit of water in it:
