Your picture looks like a miniture of the larger 300D cooler, excpet that the 300 has one line in the top and one in the bottom.

The 80 240D is a bare aluminum cooler of a lighter thin finned design.
also has 2 curved tubes at the top. the 82 240 also uses this type.

I agree probably wouldn`t make a big difference in cooling,but couldn`t hurt adding the 300 cooler. there is the thermostat in the oil filter housing assembly to control the oil flow.
