this has nothing to do with bad checks. it has everything to do with a medical billing department trying to collect a debt that wasn't owed. happens all the time and before you know it, the collection attorneys are moving at full speed ahead. three years down the road it is discovered that the patient was pursued erroneously. Reverse the judgement, let them out of jail, because we've MADE A MISTAKE (the patient died while serving time, oh well, tough luck).

I've noticed some hospitals are more aggressive than others in this regard. There appears to be a correlation between aggressive bill collection and those providing seriously incompetent medical care.

After we screw your health up while you're in our hospital, we'll bill you at twice the going rate and if you don't pay us for the bad medical care you received, we'll sick our pit bull collection attorneys on you.
