Agreed. I may try this myself too, cut out some metal, use cardboard to build a patch model and use that to cut up some metal and weld it in. I'm going to experiment with another car first. BUT, I'd be willing to have the cut and weld done professionally and I could do the rest. It not a show car, just a daily driver.
