Greenpeace

Anyone been approached by them? A couple of days ago I was leaving an REI store and I was approached by a "recruiter." She was trying to get new members, and membership is $15 a month or it could be annually, don't remember. WE eneded up talking quite a bit. I told her that I think GP has noble intentions, but I don't agree with some of it's methods and tactics in getting their message across. I later met up with a friend and yold him about my exchange. He said that the CEO makes over $200k a year and that their execs make around that much--all from donations. THis is a non-profit organization. Plus, he asked why are they at an REI store and not at other places where people may not be aware of saving the environment. REI tends to have wealthy people going in there (I'm not, was just window shopping) and most care about the environment and know all about sustainable living to do something at an individual level. That's how I felt, I told her that I don't feel a need to join an organization or a movement to make an impact.

Is GP still pretty militant in their ways? And is it true their execs make 6-figure salaries?
