That's a very interesting question. I was with a YWAM group. I think he was kind enough just to get to know us and let us exist in our American naivete. I can't recall him traveling with us on any of our preaching missions. He was always interested in talking with us about theology and prayer. He never told any of us to my knowledge that we would be better off expending our missionary zeal in other directions. If I had figured out who he was 10 years ago, I would have e-mailed him and inquired as to his opinions.
