All energy companies run 24/7 and they can be some of the busiest days of the year. If you want to build something that only takes a day and you cannot get a building permit then build it on a holiday! None of those pesky Building Inspectors out roaming around to catch you. Lots of people do this and since they are cutting all kinds of corners they also skimp on contacting utility companies as well.

And if they hit a natural gas main in the process? Oooopps!
