Anybody have any suggestions or preferences on battery choice? I'm about due for a new one.

I've been using a normal sized one since I bought the car a couple of years ago, and I don't really see why I need to go buy the enormous original equipment replacement size this time around. They are far more expensive.

Yes, I know the diesels have 22:1 compression ratios and require large batteries, but isn't it enough to get one with the same cranking amps in a smaller package?

Please tell me if there's more to the bigger battery than just extra bulk.
