To share again what my Dad seemed to have learned; if you can find someone who needs a truck, it's in good shape and the buyer is paying cash, then you could sell it below normal market value. The buyer would get a good deal, again if everything was put back right again.

If the book says $7,200 for a truck with good title, I think $4,000 puts you in the ballpark. This gives you enough margin to take extra time to sell it, find a buyer that realizes the situation and understands how this might be a bargain, and still leave you a little room to make a few bucks for messing with it.
